An Active Contact is a real person you interact with during a monthly billing period - whether that happens through messages or automations. It doesn't matter how many messages you exchange. One person = one Active Contact for the month.
Every plan includes a monthly Active Contact limit. If you go over it, your automations don't suddenly shut off, we'll just charge a small overage fee for each additional Active Contact.
On annual plans, Active Contacts are still calculated monthly, and any overages are billed monthly, too.
A contact counts as "active" when messages are sent or received through Manychat - via automations, AI, Broadcasts, or the Inbox.
You won't be caught off guard.
We'll send you multiple notifications as you approach your monthly Active Contact limit, both by email and through the platform, so you have time to adjust, upgrade, or set overage limits if needed.
If you exceed your limit and upgrade to a higher plan within the same billing cycle, any overage fees incurred so far will be forgiven, and the additional Active Contacts will count toward your new plan's allowance.
You can also set an overage threshold, which lets you control whether overages are allowed at all, and how many additional Active Contacts you're comfortable paying for.
Nope. The Free plan doesn't require a credit card.
Paid plans do require one, and we accept most major cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
Absolutely. You can test-drive Essential or Pro free for 14 days - no strings, no begging required. If it doesn't slap, cancel.
Yes!
You can upgrade plans at any time. When you upgrade, a new billing period starts immediately. You'll be charged for the new plan, and the unused portion of your current plan will be prorated and credited toward the upgrade.
You can downgrade plans at any point in time, but the downgrade will not go into effect immediately. When you downgrade plans, it will take effect at your next billing period for monthly subscriptions. Annual plans cannot be downgraded until the current annual term ends.
Users on a monthly plan can switch to an annual plan at any time. The unused paid amount from the monthly subscription will be used as a credit for their annual payment.
If you're on an annual plan, you cannot switch to a monthly plan until the annual term has ended.
You can cancel at any time. If it's been under 30 days since you bought your Manychat plan, you can cancel your plan and get a refund. Message our support team- we're reasonable humans.
