Ravi Raman

My name is Ravi Raman and I help motivated professionals improve the quality of their lives and find greater meaning in the work they do. I studied at Penn State University, graduating with honors and a degree in Finance. When I was in school, I wanted nothing more than to graduate quickly, get out into the world and make money! It didn’t take long for me to realize that as great as money was, there were a lot of things that were far more important. Things like health, being proud of my work, quality friendships, connecting and supporting those in need, and cultivating fulfilling hobbies and interests. Work also mattered and I loved my work, eventually spending almost 14 years at Microsoft Corporation, working at the corporate headquarters in Redmond, WA. I was rapidly promoted to a Director-level team leader working with large groups of engineers on the strategic plans for future versions of our Office, Windows and our Consumer “Cloud” products. In the meantime, I also became a certified Vinyasa Yoga instructor and regularly taught yoga classes, while indulging a love for endurance sports; completing many Ironman Triathlons, marathons and ultra-marathons. Eventually, I realized that it was time for a change, and my wife and I embarked on a “gap year.” Instead of waiting until we were retired to travel, we wanted to take a mini-retirement while we had good health and a big ambition to go out and see the world. We downsized, rented out our home, left our jobs (in good standing!) and booked a one-way ticket to Asia to begin our year of world travel. Towards the end of our travels, I decided to dedicate the next chapter in my work-life to helping people find more meaning in their own lives. During my corporate experience I studied and applied strategies to help teams go from disparate to cohesive and highly functioning, and to rally groups around product visions that are compelling and achievable. I realized that I could take the skills I applied in a business context, and pivot them to help people in both their careers and personal lives as well. My coaching approach is a blend of my own training across various modalities. Corporate strategy and team building, product envisioning, life coaching, NLP (neuro-linguisitc programming) and personal empowerment techniques all come to play. I’m also a graduate of Erickson College, a premier executive and leadership coaching training college based in Vancouver, Canada. I would be honored to work with you directly.
