SEELS Teachers Academy

SEELS Teachers Academy is an educational institution for aspiring English educators led by Filipino Migrants in Japan that promotes OBE or Outcome-Based Education, an educational theory that bases each part of an educational system around goals (outcomes). SEELS-TA creates job opportunities for over 180,000 Filipinos currently living in Japan by educating and training them to become professional English teachers, school owners, school staffs, material developers and distributors. SEELS (Social Enterprise English Language School) social business model was made possible through grants awarded by Michinoku Kigyo, the Cabinet Office in-charge of the Tohoku Reconstruction, in Fiscal Year 2012-2013 and by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in Fiscal Year 2013-2014.
