Where the raw emotion of Emeli Sandé meets the soulful musicality of Alicia Keys, you'll find Jemio’s merging soulful melodies and cinematic elements of haunting soundscapes. Hailing from the streets of South London, Jemio attended the Centre for Young Musicians where she studied classical piano and vocal performance. Attention for Jemio peaked due to her stunning rendition of 'Someone Like You', which now has one million YouTube views. Nominated for the MOBO Unsung Award, Jemio took the brave step in leaving her maths teaching job to become a full-time songwriter. She has since lent her soulful sound as backing vocals for LeAnne Rimes at the BBC Radio 2’s Live in Hyde Park, and to performances in venues including The Troubadour, Ronnie Scotts and The Beach Break Live Festival. Early this year we witnessed her debut TV appearance on BBC4's documentary 'The Secret Science Of Pop' where her song 'Dive' was re-produced by Grammy Award Winner Trevor Horn. Collaborating with producer Mayday (Cheryl Cole, Jamelia), Jemio is set to release ‘Scream’ later this year, the first single from her upcoming EP.
